Default 3D 120hz vs. 240hz - A few questions

I'm sure this has been asked before but I have a few specific questions.

For one, I'm a purist when it comes to video sources. I want my Blu-rays to run at 24p and my hz at 60hz.

I turn off all video effects such as "Cinemotion", 120hz, etc.

So with that said, things are a bit different with 3D TVs. From what I understand, you need at least 120hz for proper "Full 3D" since it will be 30hz for each eye to equal 60.

My question is really to do with 240hz. Is 240 simply to have have 120hz for each eye? Is there any other benefit besides this?

For someone who doesn't like 120hz and would disable it anyway, is there any reason I should get a 240hz TV for 3D?
