Good afternoon my fellow bluray.com members. I have a question in regards to which of the above titled speakers do you think that I should get. I have narrowed my decision to these two speakers, due to budget and of course the reviews that I keep finding all over the net. The room these will be used in, is entirely for movie and video game playing.
I currently am using Polk Audio Monitor 50 tower speakers for the fronts, and the Polk Audio CS 10 for center duty. But that center is being replaced with the BIC Acoustech PL-28 that arrived today. The sub that is currently being used is the partsexpress.com Dayton Audio Sub-1200. I will be upgrading the sub to the BIC Acoustech PL-200 within the next few weeks. Dont get me wrong, i have enjoyed that budget sub. But as always, especially since I am wanting to get more bass, i think its time for an upgrade. Or maybe a dual sub setup? Hmmmm....! Anyways, back on topic. Seeing as I will be using a subwoofer, or two. And I will probably never play music in that room. Well, never want to say never. But not often enough to warrant huge big bass tower speakers. Which of those two would you suggest? Seeing that the PL-28 has dual 8" with the horn tweeter, I was thinking the PL-89 will match up better. But what do you guys think? The PL-89's are easy to get. The PL-76's, not so much. So let me know what you guys think. All help is greatly appreciated. Below are the measurements for my finished basement if this helps at all: My room is "L" shaped, and in a finished basement. You can see the room in my gallery if you would like. The tv wall size is 10 foot wide. The wall to the left of the t.v., where the rack is, is 10 foot long. The wall to the right of the t.v. is about 20 feet long. Which then meets the back wall that continues to the stairs. This is wall is 20 feet long. There is another wall that is about 5 foot long. and that wall also meets up with the stairs that has an angled finish to it. |
