Canada If you could remake one movie, what would it be and why??????

Hmmmmmmm, this one has me thinking. I am not too sure what movie I would want to remake or why. There are lots of movies out there that could of and should have been better. Maybe they just required a different cast or a tweak in the plot.

I would like to hear some opinions on some movies that you, the BluRay community, if you had the chance yourself to remake one movie, what would it be and why would you pick that movie. also explain what you would do different if anything.

This could make for an interesting topic

I would do either The Exorcist or Friday the 13th. But, they would be made using only marionettes.

[Show spoiler]Seriously though, I don't know off hand.

Remake "Take Me Home Tonight"

Want it to be remade because I want a decent 80's period movie. There were some funny moments but it lacked the feel of the 80's. Things from the 80's were thrown in here and there and it felt like it was just thrown together.

Love the casts: Anna Farris, Topher Grace, Teresa Palmer, Chris Pratt, Michael Biehn, Demetri Martin, Michael Ian Black and Dan Fogler. Dan Fogler did a good job but I do wish someone else would play his role.

If it wasn't for the cast, the movie would've been worst. I so wanted to like it and want it to bring back memories of the 80's. It didn't, so it should be redone. Maybe they could re-do it and just change the title.

When I was in high school I used to think Macbeth had all the makings of a fairly good to great mob movie.

Woody Allen's What's Up Tiger Lily? has always intrigued me too. Not in the strict remake sense, of course but rather a lifting of the idea (Allen took a standard 60s Japanese spy flick with all its absurd situations and over-emoting actors and dubbed it with often hilarious English language dialogue).

Play Misty for Me had a pretty interesting premise that would update quite nicely too. Actually.......

Red Riding Hood

Would have made it a more mature themed movie and would have tweaked the casting a piece and had a much more dramatic opening and ending.

Citizen Kane but with Rupert Murdoch as the inspiration instead of Randolph Hearst.

The Grapes of Wrath.

I wouldn't remake it but modify it for what possible future America could have if the great depression happened in the near future. Kind of a modern retelling of this classic.

I just want to see some movies from my childhood get remakes so I can go watch them again, it would be cool to see a new Goonies or a Home Alone remake, something like that

Personally, I'd remake the Matrix films, taking out the extensive swearing, sexual references, and nudity.

The Phantom Menace.

I think a lot of problem in the prequel trilogy stem from them largely wasting a movie focusing on Anakin as a little kid.

The whole movie could be cut, or even better, just combine it and the 2nd one (guess I'm changing two movies instead of one!). Then Revenge of the Sith is the 2nd movie (end with Anakin becoming pre-suit Vader). Then you have the third one with him falling more and more to the darkside as he hunts down Jedi and end with the Obi-wan fight.

I agree. In fact, I wish no movies had extensive swearing. Dont get me wrong, there are alot of movies I like and they have alot of swearing(I try to stay away from it. But its in 90% of movies, if not more). But I wish they didnt. I cant stand listening to God's name in vain.

I understand people dont think swearing is a bad thing, but I do.
