Is this release a possibility from Warners?
They've released a remastered version of Bakshi's film as well as other animated titles including TV (Seuss, etc.) and I believe they have offered this in HD on demand. I hope it does see a Blu release in the future, lot of fun and great animation as well as a reminder of the time when Tolkien was not standard Hollywood fare (as much as I do enjoy Jackson's work). I think this is a definite possibility especially with the imminent multiples releases of Jackson's Hobbit films.....maybe the Rankin/Bass Return of the King as well? If there is any other info or speculation please post (I know this thread exists, but I wanted to get some discussion going in the wish list page) |
