Hope Springs region code

Hi guys

As a big fan of this film, I bought the US release of Hope Springs.

It arrived this week, but I haven't played it yet as I am away for the next two weeks.

As its a Sony release, I imagined it would be region free, like most of their releases.

But, someone has put 'region A' on the region coding section on this site.

Can someone tell me if this release is Region B compatible?

It's definitely region A locked, as I had to set the region accordingly when playing it.

Explain. Does Sony put Region A logos on their covers if it's region free? I have several that say Region A, and they are indeed Region A locked.

Yup, I have loads of releases that state A when they are region free.

I tend to go with what the cover art says. For example, both Sony and Disney frequently put the ABC logo on titles for which they have worldwide rights, whereas they'll lock titles with shared distribution.
