Sometime last week I was reading a review on here about one of the Emotiva amps and how that amp made the lowest whisper in movies come out clear as day and there was a huge improvement. That got me thinking because I constantly have issues with the center volume when there is low dialog in a movie that you can barely hear it. I recently turned my center volume up 3dB. I believe my left and right speakers are at like -2dB and now my center is +5dB. Now it’s better but after reading the review I'm wondering if my amp is the issue. I recently upgrading my receive to Onkyo TX-NR1008 but I left my amp alone thinking it only amplifies the signal so why buy a new amp? I've been into home theater for a few years and still have a lot to learn.
I guess my question is is it worth buying a new Emotiva amp? I was looking at the XPA-5 but my Klipsch speakers say they are only rated for 100RMS/400Peak and this amp is 200 per channel. Would this amp blow my speakers? Thanks to anyone that can help. I really appreciate the community that this website offers and the knowledge that I receive. |
