Default Why are Blu ray cases so undurable?

I have never had this issue with DVDs but about 20% of my Blu's (imports from US & UK) have cracked cases which I think is not acceptable

i dropped the Avengers four-disc case from a height of a metre and it just cracked

Better questions would be:

#1. Why aren't postal services less aggressive in handling packages/parcels/envelopes?

#2. Why drop your Blu-rays?

I had a 10' tall bookshelf of 430+ Blu-rays fall over. The bookcase fell on top of them all and crushed at least 40% of them VERY hard in the process. As I cleaned the mess I carefully examined the cases (especially my steelbooks) and not one suffered any damage. Undurable??? Not in my opinion.

Honestly, I think it's the clear blue plastic.
Clear plastic always seems more brittle. Like CD cases.
