Aladdin (Disney metal box) - Is it coming out? - Blu-ray Forum

Futureshop seem to do a lot of Disney movies that debut in blu ray in the metal box format. Can we expect Aladdin to be in that collection?

Would be good, its one of my favourites.

Aladdin has not yet been announced for Blu-ray. Look for it in 2014 after a 3D Theatrical re-release. Hopefully then!

Damn, I thought this was an official announcement! We need more Disney Vivas there's been a decent run since The Avengers.

Aladdin has been announced for February or March 2013 in several countries. Judging by other releases, the US will probably get Aladdin later next year. It will probably not get a 3D release - there was an article a couple days back about how they are rethinking their 3d strategy because they just aren't seeing the numbers they would like to, with the exception of the lion king.

Whenever it does come out, I certainly hope we get a metal pack for it.

ALADDIN is a 2014 release. Next year we will have THE LITTLE MERMAID in 3D.

Again, Aladdin has already been confirmed for early 2013 in several countries. Aladdin is not a Diamond Edition, so Little Mermaid coming out next year doesn't mean that Aladdin won't.

Per Disney:
According to an insert in the Lady and the Tramp Diamond Edition, it was unexpectedly announced that Aladdin was scheduled to be released as a Diamond Edition in Spring 2013. However, in the insert to Cinderella, it was announced that Peter Pan would instead be the Spring 2013 Diamond Edition release to celebrate the movie's 60th anniversary. So there you have it. Aladdin was going to come out later next year but has been pushed back. They aren't going to release Aladdin in some countries and not in others.

Granted Aladdin wasn't part of the Master's Collection when it was on VHS but God I could not see Disney not doing a Diamond Edition.

I mean it came after Beauty And The Beast and before The Lion King. And both of those were Diamond Editions.

Yeah. It really makes no sense that Aladdin has not been released by now on blu-ray in one way or another...

I was browsing over the US forum and quite near the top is the mention of Aladdin coming out in April. I didn't look inside the posts to see what was written. I just wanted to know if on that date there would be an Aladdin metal box release. Sorry if I got your hopes up.

What about Roger Rabbit?

Rumour has it a 3D version is being prepped for theatrical release, hence the delay. Spring 2014 is my guess.
