Default How many trips to the theater this year?

So I have never been to the theater as much as I have in 2012. Alot of it was due to some great movies this year but also now that there is movie money on a lot of catalogue releases I had many of my trips for FREE.

I went to a total of 24 movies in 2012 and I still plan on seeing the Hobbit before the year is out.

Count your trips and state your favorite. You can check out my theatrical section of my collection to see what I saw this year.

For me Dark Knight Rises was my favorite.

So sad:

The Avengers and The Dark Knight Rises.

That's it.

I used to go 3 times a week.

People are just rude now and I can't stand people who text during movies.

They have a right to be @$$holes....I am exercising my right to wait until the movies come out in Blu.

Over 70 trips for me

Lawrence of Arabia in 4K was my favorite experience. If only I could see it in 70mm.

So far I'm up to 53 different trips counting seeing the same movie multiple times and also the re-releases (Raiders of the Lost Ark, Titanic, etc). I'll be at 54 tonight after seeing the Pulp Fiction Fathom event.

My girlfriend works in a movie theater so we get to see movies for free! So we end up seeing a lot of stuff together.

I used to go to the movies almost every week but this year I've only been to 4 movies: American Reunion (bored on a Sunday when it was raining), Hunger Games, Avengers, and Dark Night Rises. I just don't enjoy going to the theater much anymore and can wait for the Blu-ray.

I would say I felt that way before this year (that the theater lost its appeal), but having so many FREE movie money passes got me back into the theater experience. I saw several movies this year that I normally would have waited until they came out on blu. I also mostly saw them alone. I traveled alot and with nothing else to do while out of town, went to alot. In the past I would ALWAYS go with someone but I have since gotten over that.

This. Even when I'm half-interested in something (Skyfall, TDKR) I just can't seem to get myself out of the house before they're gone.

I certainly couldve waited for a couple on Home Video. Although matinees and Cinemark supersavers make it pretty affordable.

Aaah, I'm unsure whether to go. I've already seen Pulp Fiction in theaters this year and I've got a ton of blind buys... Grrrrr deals suck

I prefer waiting for the movies to come out on Blu but I've seen:
American Reunion
Hunger Games
Ted
TDKR
The Master
Skyfall

My favorite was definitely TDKR

Also gonna see Django on Christmas

Only saw 11 movies at the theater this year.
However only 5 visits to the theater. Most were multi-feature presentations.

Dr. Seuss' The Lorax (2012)
The Hunger Games (2012)

The Avengers (2012)
John Carter (2012)

Ghost Rider: Spirit of Vengeance (2012)
The Cabin in the Woods (2012)

Diary of a Wimpy Kid: Dog Days (2012)
The Watch (2012)

The Possession (2012)
House at the End of the Street (2012)
Resident Evil: Retribution (2012)

I've never been a fan of the high concession stand prices, sticky floors, teen giggling and random flashes of light from cell phone use during the movie. Not to mention it's more comfortable, convenient and cheaper to just watch a movie at home.

Also gonna see Django on Christmas
Django Should be worth the money. At an epic 2:47 length & Under Quentin's hands: it should be more than alright. I got chills watching trailer 2 before Killing them softly last night.

I can't wait, man. I've been anticipating it since it was announced. Christmas is gonna be even better because of it
