Default 2012 Pioneer Elite SC-68 A/V receiver (Home Theater magazine review link)

The following is a link to the Home Theater magazine review on the new and improved top of the line 2012 Pioneer Elite SC-68 A/V receiver with a list price of $2,500. Last years 2011 Pioneer Elite SC-57 A/V receiver was $400 cheaper at a list price of $2,100.

Some of the new features of the 2012 Pioneer Elite SC-68 A/V receiver is 4K pass through feature which will be a useful feature when a 4K optical disc format is released (in theory around the year 2016 we may see 4K consumer video sources on an optical disc). The Pioneer Elite SC-68 is also the first A/V receiver to include a high quality USB DAC to listen to lossless, uncompressed, and lossy music files from ones computer. A 4TB hard drive will hold a lot of lossless or uncompressed music files that a consumer purchases from an online dealer. The Internet might one day replace the niche SACD and DVD-Audio formats that audiophiles enjoy.
