USA When do you say, "Enough is enough!"

I think I'm at that point.

I love movies and though I'm not as hard core as some, I would consider myself a videophile.

At first, I was buying movies to convert my DVD collection to BD. So I did, and sold off my DVD's one by one as I replaced them.

Then, it was about buying BD movies because I just moved and didn't have satellite nor internet hooked up in the new house, so I watched BD to pass the time.

Now that I have Netflix streaming, it has become more about just collecting BD's just for the sake of collecting. I scroll through Amazon and this website just to see what's on sale. And when I do score, it just ends up piled with the rest of my collection -- some still shrink-wrapped, sitting unopened. Some were watched once and haven't been touched in over a year. It's just "nice to have" kinda thing.

Well, I've amassed together close to 200 Blu ray movies and you know what? Enough is enough.

I've been going through the list and hand picking maybe 25-30 movies to keep that I consider 'classics' or have some sentimental value to me (where I can actually watch the movie over and over again) and I'm dumping the rest on eBay. It's been hard because I have to look at every single one and asking myself, "Should I keep this? Why?!"

I've been trying to resist placing movies in my Amazon queue in hopes that it would go on sale soon. I'm still waiting for some DVD's to be released in the BD equivalent so I'm still holding out on those (like Sidney Poitier movies).

This madness of "gotta have it" mentality has got to stop. Seriously. I blame my mother for starting me on this path when she started with those damn Disney VHS collection movies when I was a kid.

Yup, I got owned by marketing. Sheesh!

Anyway, that's my rant.
