HBO is airing the 5-part BBC miniseries "Parade's End" which is an adaptation of four novels of the same name by Ford Madox Ford. It's directed by Susanna White and written by Tom Stoppard. It is a British period piece and takes place in the years preceding and during World War I. I recorded all five episodes and have watched the first two so far. Excellent performances by Benedict Cumberbatch, Rebecca Hall, Adelaide Clemens and others. Adelaide Clemens is cuter than a Barbie doll. It's kind of unusual seeing Stephen Graham (Al Capone) from Boardwalk Empire in a conservative British part. He's good, though. Cinematography is stunning. I needed a little break from sword hacking, meth cookers blowing each other away and aliens popping out of people's chests for a bit in favor of a completely human story and it seems to fit the bill.
