I don't know what compelled me, but I was just reading up on The Exorcist movies and when I came across the third one, I kept seeing that it had one of the best jump scare scenes ever in a horror movie. Which brings me to this thread. What is/are some of your favorite jump scare scenes from some of your favorite horror movies. Some that stand out to me are:
Jaws: Remember jumping 3 feet in the air as a kid when Hooper swims out to the boat wreckage and Ben Gardner's head falls out. The Thing (1982): The blood test is one scene that still gets me to this day. Another one I can remember, also, is when Copper is trying to revive Norris using the defibrillator, Norris' chest opens up and bites off Copper's arms. Quarantine: Not sure if this scene was in [REC] as well (can't remember), but I remember being really startled when all the people of the apartment are standing around talking in the lobby and the body falls from the upper balcony. The Amityville Horror (remake): This one really surprised me as well. When George and Kathy are having sex in the new house and George suddenly sees a ghost on the edge of their bed. |
