Hello Friends, I'm looking for a nice receiver .. I did some research and came with a different options but I'm not expert in this.. So I will like to know what will be the best receiver between all of them.
1.- Sony STRDN1030 Wi-Fi Network A/V Receiver 2.-Yamaha RX-V673 7.2-Channel Network AV Receiver or RX-V573 3.-Denon AVR-1913 4.-Onkyo TX-NR616 or TX-NR515 5.-Pioneer VSX-1122-K Well That's the receivers I like... I have a budget of $400 That's why I say "or" and some cases becauses the other receiver is less expensive.. And the more expensive maybe I could find it refurshed or used like new more Affordable for me. biggrin.gif Well I hope can I have a more expert answer so I can buy the best between all of them... Thank you |

The pioneer probably looks like the most complete unit. however, ive never been much of a pioneer person, i like denon and onkyo. Denon makes a solid unit and would be my 1-B choice. |

i plan on upgrading my bedroom 509 to the 515; the 509 will go to my daughter! ![]() the 515 offers, 3D, 4K, height or wide channels and if your a fan of high resolution digital music this new line of receivers from onkyo can stream audio up to 192/24 by ethernet so that's a big plus if you have a NAS or networked pc with music. you can also direct connect an iOS device to the receiver to play your music collection that way, as well as charge your device at the same time. they may also (not sure) support android devices too. it's also very cost effective (in my opinion) it offers a lot. if your driving speakers with high db's your in luck and if you have a small to medium room, your in luck. i think it offers good power for the dollar, again, if your speakers are easy to drive and if you don't blast audio, you should be fine with the provided power. i'm not saying the others are not good choices, but, i'm an onkyo man and i like them so, yeah, i recommend them. no matter what you get, best of luck with it. do your homework aside from what we recommend and pick out what's best for you and your needs. keep us posted. |

I think Callas meant "You are telling me, stepping up from a 40" lcd display to a 55" plasma was fantastic." I was a little confused too. By the way I totally agree. I went from an old 46 to a 55" plasma. AWESOME. |

I own a Denon, have had it for over 6 years and it still delivers as if it was new, but if I changed avrs I would look into Marantz first and Yamaha would also get looked into, their Aventage line is solid. |

Try to find somewhere that carries Yammy and a few others, bring your music and audition, because as I said, features is one thing, performance is another. In the end only you know what you like ![]() |

I am no expert either, but I purchased the Yamaha RX-V573 a few weeks ago. I am very happy with it. After reading reviews I found the biggest concern was the on screen display looking like it was written in DOS. It doesn't bother me at all. Another concern was the remote. First of all, I didn't find it that bad. It's a remote control, not rocket science. Second, I don't use it anymore because after a few days of configuring and calibrating I programmed it into my universal remote.
Price was a factor in my decision as well. They all seemed to be comparable in performance, so I went with the Yamaha (ended up getting it down to $369.99 in Canada). I have owned a Yamaha in the past and my last receiver was a Pioneer. It just came down to price being the deciding factor on similar receivers. The things I don't like about the Yamaha are very minor. It doesn't have a plug-in to plug my powered sub into, it brags about being able to switch inputs while the power is off, but I find it switches to audio once I turn the TV on anyway, so I do have to switch back to HDMI, and it might just be me, but I find there is a little click when the TV switches from 60hz (previews) to 24hz (blu ray movie). Another small irritant is that to use Air Play you have to run an Ethernet cable from your router to the receiver. Not a big issue to me, but it should be pointed out. I think the main difference between the RX-V573 and the RX-V673 is 7.1 vs 7.2. Judging by the research I've done, mostly on this forum, is that 2 subs can be hooked up at the same time with a $3 multi output splitter without losing any quality. Just another thing to consider. If you have any other questions please feel free to ask. I'll do my best to answer. |
