I automatically assume Lincoln will, because it just feels like an Oscar type film, but I have this odd gut feeling that Silver Linings, despite not even winning Musical or Comedy last night, has a good shot at Best Pic.

Django deserves it but the Academy has been giving best PIcture to so many terrible films this decade I fear they will continue the trend and give it to Life of Pi

I'm going to guess either Argo or Les Miserables.

I think it'll be 'Lincoln' or 'Argo', and both are very deserving of the award.

Argo. A shame that the Academy snubbed Ben Affleck for best director.

I thought Argo had a good shot all along, and with the win last night you would think it would be an even more confident pick...but isn't there some instant correlation between a film's chances of winning best picture when the director didn't even get nominated?

That's why I said Silver Linings has the second best chance, IMO. Something about the way it picked up four different acting nominations AND O Russell got in for Director makes me think it had a lot of love from the Academy.

I hope Lincoln, best film I saw from 2012, but I would be fine with Les Miserable or Life of Pi, or Skyfall...oh wait.

Haha so true. Django Unchained should win in a landslide but it won't. I never even heard of amour or beasts of the southern wild until the nominations. That's the oscars for ya though. That's why the ratings keep going in the toilet, most people don't care about most of these movies.

With the way BP wins have gone over the past five years or so, Lincoln feels too main stream to win. Hope it does though.
