Default The Prestige 4K

Decided to add this last night considering it's got added DV. I only watched the first three minutes but has anyone else noticed that right after the opening title scene (the top hats in the woods) where the film supposedly cuts to black with the Bale v/o being grey instead of black? Watching this on a LG C7. Black bars on the rest of the footage look nice to me but it spun me out that this one cut to black had raised levels. Is it just me?

Where are you watching this in 4K Dolby Vision? I didn't think the 4K version was available digitally.

Anyways, there is a known issue with Dolby Vision playback and raised black levels on the Apple TV. See this article:

The OP is from Germany. I believe Warner is distributing internationally so UHD is probably available. Domestically it's a Touchstone film so no UHD.

Yup, should have mentioned that i've been watching this through my UK iTunes account.

I know that there's issues with DV in Netflix, definitely raised blacks on that content too. But it's weird with The Prestige and i'm almost sure it's the ATV/content rather than the TV (as all my other DV films don't have that problem at all). The black bars are solid, inky, like you would expect on an OLED but that transition I mentioned where it should cut to black it just goes grey. It's not a complete deal breaker, it's a little thing for sure but it's bugging me

This is the iTunes section so I meant there's no UHD for the title in iTunes. Good information, though. Fandango's UHD support is not bad (better bitrate than Vudu at least, even if no DV) but they really need to join MA to make the sale.

MoviesAnywhere shows this as $4.99 and in 4K with Dolby Vision “if bought that way. When I open the link, it goes straight to iTunes which is still only supporting HD. Will this not redeem in 4K across other retailers then?

It’s 4.99 UHD on Amazon as well, ported over thru MA.

I also saw it on sale on Amazon, would that since with MoviesAnywhere?
If you buy from iTunes it will only port to MoviesAnywhere (and any connected retailers) as HD.

Purchase from Amazon, VUDU, or Microsoft and it will port to MA as 4K. It will remain in HD at iTunes though.
