Default Black Book price:

I just noticed that Black Book is available on moretonbayblu-ray for $20.90 US. (People here were wanting a copy but not wanting to pay the amazon price.) You can also preorder Shakira Oral Fixation tour at moretonbayblu-ray for 15.20. and 20 Million Miles to Earth for 15.77...

And this is an excellent movie also, Highly recommended! I managed to get it a while back during one of the big Sony/Disney sales. I paid $19.99 at Suncoast IIRC and with Suncoast's usual prices that's really saying something. I only got around to watching it about a week ago, and all I can say is Great Movie

I know that some people really hate sub-titles, but in case anyone doesn't know, it's not in english.

I got mine for slightly less at JR.com (thanks to your tip, Kristin). This is a really good movie, makes me appreciate how fortunate I am spending time watching Blu-rays instead of worrying about my life.

enjoy

As much as I like Verhoven I must note that Black Book isn't even close to SONY's real gem: The Lives of Others.

A must own!!!

Ciao,
Pro-B

ps.
Some people, like me, love subtitles. With a library of well over 3500 titles I must make it clear that 85% of them are European/Arthouse titles.

Yes, I agree with that (the Lives of Others). My main collection is European/art House, too.

IMO:
On Black Book, I thought it was a very good production, but it falls short of being entirely believable. A number of relatively minor changes in the screenwriting stage could have made the film a true masterpiece and taken away the cultural controversy. I could explain if you like sometime. It could have been really great, but instead it is just very good (for its production values, acting, plot twists, etc.) with an integral inconsistency that's hard to equate with history and cultural tradition. Verhoeven should have asked me to help with the screenplay !!!

P.S. IMO Subtitles are always an abbreviation and detract from the beauty of the original language of the dialog and its delivery.
