Sweden Anybody Have Any of the Swedish Woody Allen releases?

I see that a bunch of his later films that are not out in the US have come out in Sweden, like Small Time Crooks, Curse of the Jade Scorpion, Hollywood Ending, Celebrity, Mighty Aphrodite, etc. etc.
are these bds 1080p?
I saw a listing saying they were all region free.
Is that correct?
anybody have any of these Swedish bds that can comment on the quality of these releases?
I would very much appreciate it.

I have all of them, but haven't had a chance to watch any of them at the moment. I'll need to find them (which might take a day or two), but should be able to stick them through bdinfo if that's of any use.

thanks for the reply.
I'm mainly interested in Small Time Crooks so if you get a chance see how that one looks and if it is 1080p.
any info on the others would be appreciated also.

DVDBeaver has a review:

http://www.dvdbeaver.com/film/DVDCom...timecrooks.htm

I want to buy Everyone Says I Love You but it has lossy sound, so I'm worried it will just be the DVD transfer put onto a Blu-ray disc. LFletcher, will you please let me know what you think too?

Not the first time the Beaver has mixed purchase links of different releses in the same column despite the content/specs being way off from the release they listed. They seem to never learn...

No, of course not. I was genuinely apologising for my mistake. I do find it hard to communicate on these forums without someone taking umbrage. If in doubt, I am being sincere!

Apologies for the delay. Managed to find 3 of them in the loft - Celebrity, Small Time Crooks and Curse Of The Jade Scorpion.

A quick look with BDInfo tells me it's 1080p.

I picked up a used copy of Small Time Crooks the other day. It is one of the least visually interesting WA movies, but I thought it looked fine. However, the lossy, 2 channel audio is just awful.

As a result, I think I'll wait on getting some of these others in hopes of other, better releases down the road.

I have them all. They are all 1080p and likely sourced from older masters. They are all noticeably sharper of course than the DVD versions. I'm not a huge audiophile, so, I can't speak for that, other than they sound fine to me. If you're a fan like me then I wouldn't wait for a U.S. release as you'll probably be waiting a long time. These are Region Free and if you order several at once you save on shipping fees.

Most, if not all, the Woody Allen titles released in Scandinavia are also released in Japan with lossless audio and so far I'm very happy with the picture quality as well, for those looking for options.

If you order from Amazon Japan the shipping isn't that bad if you get more than a couple discs in an order, and would be more or less the same to ordering the equivalent titles from Europe. Japan is also natively Region A, for North American who aren't region free.

Just throwing that out there for those still looking.
