CD/DVD/BD wont play on my PS3!!!HELP!

Im having this problem with my PS3 not playing any kind of disk at all, is there anybody here that can be of any help, before I go to Sony. It would be real a drag for me to talk to Sony because Im here in Japan but I bought my PS3 online when it came out in the states.

Here's the scenario that happened before the dilemma. Yesterday, right after I downloaded the 2.0 upgrade, I watched like 3 movies all in DVD's, everything was working great, but after watching 3 movies I wanted to watch some more, so I decided to put the HOSTEL 2 BD and then out of nowhere it gave a pop up window saying that it cant read the disk, so I ejected it, look at the disk(it was very clean and scratch free, its brand new) and then I put it back in. to my surprise, it just kept on loading( you know when you see that loading sign on the top right hand corner of the screen when you put in a disk) so I was like what the HeY is going on?! it went on like that probably 15 to 20 min until i gave up waiting, so i ejected it, put on the need for speed carbon for ps3 same thing just kept on loading. I put a DVD on, same thing, and it did the same thing to a regular music cd, so im like what the hey, is my PS3 f*cked!!! so i just turned it off and on, nothing happen, a slight tap, nothing, disconnected power and hooked it back up, nothing. so i figured i might have seen too many movies and it might be overheating, so i just turned it off for the night and went to sleep. the next day which is today, i tried it out again, but still no joy.

im very frustrated now, everything else seems to work fine, like the games and trailers that are downloaded on the PS3 harddrive other than that its just that, no kind of disk would work, so please, please guys any advice or troubleshooting steps will be very much appreciated. thanks!
