Japan Garo Red Requiem 3D Blu-ray (2010) [Region A Locked] [No English audio or subtitles]

Finally got around to watching this after picking it up in April from https://www.suruga-ya.com/en. Please note this is not English friendly and lacks both dubs and subs.

Frankly it didnt really bother me as its not too tough to follow whats going on. Though the CGI was wonky frequently, the 3D was very strong with multiple pop outs and fragment/water effects. This was clearly made for 3D! Very highly recommended for the visuals as they were a 3D treat and had some effects I havent seen in other 3D movies. Not for kids as there is a decent amount of nudity including the entire final battle.

I bought this with 3D discs Movie Monster Kun, Kamen Rider, and Biohazard (aka Resident Evil) Damnation to get more bang for the shipping. Have not watched Movie Monster Kun or Kamen Rider yet but I believe they are also not English friendly

Scrubbed through this on YT. Too bad it’s not English friendly. It looks right up my alley. Crazy CGI!

FWIW I cant imagine the script was all that great anyway lol. If you can find this for a decent price would get it anyway for the visuals...

Interesting. I saw this a bit back but soft-passed and forgot about it. There is an English dub and sub in this 2d only one that could be muxed in.

I have both editions and I'm planning to remux them. My first attempt burning a blu-ray remux of Flying Swords of Dragon Gate wasn't successful, so I'm waiting until I have an Oppo player to attempt Garo. But I did pop the english-unfriendly 3D Blu-ray in and totally agree on its quality. It's a charmingly cheesy tokusatsu movie with tv-movie level production value, but Oscar-level 3D.

I may get this one just for the 3D ride. It looks bonkers on YT. Asked Mexican husband if he could understand the Portuguese track in the YT clip and got a look of death. Apparently Spanish and Portuguese are different languages.

I recall enjoying this one:

Depth was fine (some good corridor shots) and there was a fair bit of pop-out, nothing too extreme but certainly noticeable - particles, swords etc. I felt that there was more out-of-screen action at the beginning but nevertheless this was still one of the best Japanese 3D movies I've seen, a decent real 3D presentation that really deserves an English-friendly 3D blu ray release.

Unfortunately. Just putting out there that the English exists for those so inclined to remux or use their players to add them. I've purchased a lot of movies twice so I could combine English dubs/subs into 3d and pop them out to mkv for instant play to my projector.

I will do the same if I have to, but hoping I can just find the subs or dub somewhere else...

Oops. Got it. Was excited when I saw the $15.89 price, English audio/subs and 1-day Prime delivery. My itchy trigger finger almost clicked. Going to have to learn how to “remux” as new 3Ds become harder to find. 250+ 3DBRs and still learning. Thanks for the info.

Sorry, I'll have to edit so i don't trigger anyone else .

I have the simplest method possible for remux I think so just PM me if you want some help. With my method need a pc, 3d blu-ray drive for it, and some way to play a 3d mkv (either the right PC hardware/software or separate player like zidoo).

Thanks so much for the kind offer. I still need the proper equipment and am new to the various file formats and all. Once I feel I’m up to speed and ready to give it a go, I may take you up on your offer and drop you a DM for help. Thank you so much!

My Spanish pal informs me that Italian is "Spanish spoken with a broken jaw", and Portuguese is "drunk Spanish".

Reminds me of the Hulk movie where Banner, having gone on a Hulk rampage in Brazil, regains consciousness and tries speaking Portuguese, only to be informed that he's ina Spanish speaking country. Sadly that film wasn't 3Dified, was it?

This me wonder why Sentai Filmworks/Kraken Releasing didn't pick up the 3D version too of Garo for the North American market.

Off topic:

You forgot French that is also a latin language. Not to mention Romanian and other close countries that have latin language in their roots.

Although Portuguese, Spanish, and Italian are from Latin origins... the languages developed differently. Different people, different cultures, different roots... only the roman empire made these countries close in speech, but different on everything else.

The Incredible Hulk partly happens in Brazil... but poorly spoken by most of them.

In case anyone is interested … shipping is free!!

But seriously, still on a hunt for this on 3DBR at a decent price. Have given up finding anything English-friendly. Best I can find is around $60US used, and that’s without international shipping charges.

$700? Why not a thousand or ten thousand? These sharks are always trying to make a salary out of suckers. Geesh!

Check your PM.

Thank you Jlardonio I swear this is the best connected group. I use the same google, dig down rabbit holes, etc. with no luck and someone here always finds what I can’t. Grateful.

If you have the remix capability get a zidoo. It handles SRT as 3d sub's.
