United Kingdom Tucker & Dale vs. Evil

Up for preorder at amazon, release date: 26th September 2011
http://www.amazon.co.uk/Tucker-and-D...SIN=B004NBY24C

Synopsis from Rotten Tomatoes:
"Tucker & Dale vs Evil is a hilariously gory, good-spirited horror comedy, doing for killer rednecks what Shaun of the Dead did for zombies. Tucker and Dale are two best friends on vacation at their dilapidated mountain house, who are mistaken for murderous backwoods hillbillies by a group of obnoxious, preppy college kids. When one of the students gets separated from her friends, the boys try to lend a hand, but as the misunderstanding grows, so does the body count. Tucker & Dale vs Evil has been a hit on the festival circuit, debuting at Sundance, and winning the Midnight Audience Award at SXSW, the Jury Prize for First Feature at Fantasia, the Best Director award at Fantaspoa, and the Best Motion Picture Award at Sitges."

I think there should be more love for this film. I'm a big fan of horror/comedy films and this looks fantastic. I've been wanting to see it for a while, but it was never released in cinemas in the UK (as far as I know), which is a shame. It has two lead actors who are great (Alan Tudyk from Firefly, A Knight's Tale etc., and Tyler Labine who I remember from Reaper, so it's worth a look.

It's doing pretty well on Rotten Tomotoes at the moment too!
http://www.rottentomatoes.com/m/tuck..._dale_vs_evil/

I do advise though that if you don't like spoilers, don't search for the trailer, because it's one of those annoying ones that shows you what looks to be all the best bits.

Great to see more love for the film. I've not been lucky enough to see it yet, but I've honestly heard nothing but good things from people who have. It's a definite preorder for me.

Yeah, the cover art isn't the best. It's usually something I focus on but to be honest I'm just so happy this is getting a UK release at all!

UPDATE: My copy was dispatched from HMV on Wednesday, hopefully I'll have it tomorrow.

Anyone any idea what the in-store prices are for this? I'm thinking about popping into HMV tomorrow.

It's region B locked. Don't import it unless you have a region free player.

Thanks for the info.

1080i that's a bit of a letdown there, I wonder how come that is.

It's probably from a very small company who don't handle a lot of releases

It's a Sony Pictures release, so hardly small.

I have the blu-ray itself. It's region B. Amazon are wrong, which is hardly surprising.

It's produced independently.

Just because it's distributed by Sony, doesn't make it big. It would've been nice to have more bonus features, and trailers that actually have something to do with the movie itself.

I love the movie, but if you all want it, wait for it to drop in price, as it's basically a vanilla release anyway.

I wasn't suggesting it was a big film, more that it's been released by a big distributor.

Out of curiosity was Sony's US release of Red Hill 1080i?

Since it's a 1080i version I'll hold out a bit and see how the US and other region versions are instead.
