Australia Harry Potter 5 & 6 - Ultimate Collector Editions?

I rang up WB the other day asking when these will be released (UK got them almost a year ago) and they said they have no idea if or when they will be.

They said they're waiting for America (why not UK?) to send them the masters. If we want them so badly, we can simply order them online. But aren't stores complaining that customers are buying things online rather than in stores?

It would be really unbelievable if WB Australia are waiting for them to be sent and WB US/UK are waiting for WB Australia to ask for them.

Actually we never even got 3 & 4.

WB released 1 & 2 as Ultimate Collector's Editions, mirroring the US sets. Then instead of releasing the remainder WB released 1 through 4 as Collector's Editions featuring slipcovered Amarays which included a part of the documentary featured in the US UCE sets.

So, to sum up:

Harry Potter 1-5: Standard Amaray
Harry Potter 6: Metal Slip, Standard Amaray
Harry Potter 7 Parts 1 & 2 (BD/DVD/Combo), 3D releases, 3D boxset, JB exclusives with pins, Lenticular covers etc
Harry Potter 1-6: Standard Amaray re-releases with new art
Harry Potter 1-2: Ultimate Collector's Edition
Harry Potter 1-4: Collector's Edition
Harry Potter 1-6 boxset
Harry Potter 1-7 Part 1 boxset
Harry Potter Complete Collection boxset
Harry Potter Complete Collection Limited Edition boxset

Think that about covers all the releases. As you can see WB chops and changes what they do at the drop of a hat. Doesn't seem they can stick with any one particular format.

Suffice to say I wouldn't bank on anything that hasn't already been released finally getting a showing. I think it's more likely each of the films will get another repackage down the line, probably for Christmas once Year 7 Part 2 has been out for about a year or so.

For 3 & 4, our version was exactly the same as the American/UK version except:

- No DVD of extras
- No box
- No Booklet

Apart from those, luckily the content was the same.

I spoke to WB this afternoon about the Collector's Editions of movies 5 - 8 being released here in Australia.

Looks like it ain't going to happen. "Maybe not for six years" - WB consultant.
