The good thing about old movies is that any kid nowadays could watch them if they wanted. So a shocking movie from the 1950s is nothing compared to what kids are allowed to watch today.
Can anyone list the traditionally "non-family friendly" film classics that your kids, nephews, etc. have enjoyed? Many of the musicals (Wizard of Oz, Shirley Temple) or comedies don't count (Chaplin, Stooges, Marx Bros, Tati) because those were films marketed to all ages. So far, my 7 year old son really enjoyed: - Fritz Lang's METROPOLIS (1927) - THE NIGHT OF THE HUNTER (1955) - David Lean's OLIVER TWIST (1948) - FORBIDDEN PLANET (1956) - THUNDERBALL (1965) - 2001 (1968) Last edited by toddly6666; 02-21-2013 at 02:53 AM. |
