Okay, lemme splain. I have a DISH HD DVR Reciever hooked up via HDMI to my ONKYO 605 reciever, which them outputs via HDMI to my Panny Plasma. Here's the catch. I have a local antenna (on the roof) that recieves HD signal and is connected via coaxial cable to the back of my DISH Reciever. The audio from and only from my antenna drops out at the most inconvenient times.
I'm not sure what is wrong. I did unplug the antenna from the reciever and plugged it back in and the audio worked for about four hours, then cut out. I am stumped guys/gals. Please let me know if any of you have had this problem and/or know how to fix it, before I contact Onkyo. Thanks. |

I too use an antennae to my Dish HD to get local HD channels...and I know what you mean about audio dropping out, and sometimes video as well. I believe it has more to do with the signal being dropped or not completely picked up...I dont think it has anything to do with your set-up...
My signal strength for the local channels stays around 60-80%...with the occasional dropped signal and or no sound...its annoying as shit, but thats what you get for "free" channels. Only advice I can recommend is maybe getting a signal booster for the anntennae...or moving it to a better location? |

Thanks guys,
That's a bummer. Well I had an old 20 year old antenna that I just took down and replaced with a new one, and have only had very minor, very seldom visual dropouts. What's weird is that it just started dropping out recently. The video gets fixed and now the audio is screwed up. i'll check out the signal booster. But, now channel two is broadcasting in Spanish. i live in Socal, maybe it has to do with the fires.... |
