20th Century Fox X-Men: Apocalypse 3D Blu-ray (2016) [Region Locked / Free]

X-Men: Apocalypse 3D
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/X-Men:_Apocalypse

Set to arrive in theaters May 30, 2016. Looks like a nice continuation of the series, the last one filmed in 3D, though with mostly medium range 3D layering, minimal pop out.

Still not sure about Apcolypse. Wonder why Wolverine was absent in this teaser??!? Jackman is in this one, yes?

Need to see more

Good point Taygan. I wonder if they're waiting to reveal a new Wolverine as Hugh Jackman's name I didn't see in the credit listing yet.
Days of Future Past was interesting along with X-Men First Class, though these films could use a little more excitement with more action.

Just saw some thing where they talk about he might only be doing a cameo in this one. How much screen time he would have as compared to his cameo in X-Men: First Class,I'm not sure.

I just checked both his IMDB page as well as his wiki page and neither of them have this movie listed.

The 3D in "Days of Future Past" made no impression at all for me. Just one in a long line of blown opportunities in the superhero genre. It would be nice if the studio let their hair down and went all out with the 3D for once.

Days of Future Past was mostly medium range 3D layering, so I agree, it was a lost opportunity to amp up the 3D to strong.

It's so much more fun to watch IMO when the 3D image pops far away from being 2D. Last one was filmed in 3D I'm certain, but not sure what the details are for this one, filmed 3D or converted 3D. Too many directors/stereographers with 3D cameras in cinema play it too safe and go for medium or weaker 3D. Medium is good, but it could be even better.

There are a couple of 3D camera engineers listed on
IMDB. Plus director Singer has made his past 3D ventures
in native 3D.

He isn't, last I heard he was doing one more Wolverine stand alone film and then would be done with the role. But who knows.

Shame Jackman isn't in this, but I'm guess he didn't have time to be...still looking forward to this, looks amazing!

Those 80's Cannon films were mostly fun to watch, even with the cheesiness, but depends on what one's looking for.

I'm concerned with Jennifer Lawrences' screen time. Why are they pushing her so hard?
Mystique is a supporting player to the more interesting characters. At this point is she really that more famous to the x-men viewing crowd than Fassbender, etc? I don't get it.

Her fame is probably one reason they're giving her a bigger role as you suggested. She is an infiltration undercover character, so for Magneto, she's an important asset for his goals to take over the world.

USA X-Men: Apocalypse 3D

I like what i'm hearing so far about the 3D in this film.....

Bryan Singer interview: X-Men: Apocalypse, Quicksilver

Quote:
So what can you do now with visual effects that you couldn't when you did the first X-Men?

Oh, the advent of effects, 3D technology - you know, we're one of the few films that actually shoots in native 3D. So it helps with the rendering of the effects, it helps the quality of the image. Now we have more sophisticated rigs that can do that. And more seamless visual effects. They can render lighting better, surfaces. I always try to incorporate real physical stuff. Real actors, physical sets. Not make it feel like one big CGI-fest. And that way, when you do extend a set or bring in a visual effect, it has more organics to it - there's more reference. When you're shooting in true stereo, now for the visual effects people, they have real stereo images to key off. So that's all developing a mile a minute, you know.

The sequence with Quicksilver this time, how much of that is real and how much is digital?

A lot more is real than you think. We did use certain visual effects, certain digital effects and explosive algorithms. But we also took multiple phantom 3D cameras and ran them in protective cases through physical explosions. We blew up our sets. We waited until we were done with them, and then blew them up. We flew the cameras through at 80mph rolling at 3000 frames per second. And so if you watch the dailies, you can actually see a flaming book move across the screen slow enough to read the chapters. For the Quicksilver scene, it took us a month and a half to shoot two minutes of film. Evan Peters worked for 17 days on just that one two-minute sequence.
