I can't read anything on the German Amazon, but I know how to navigate through from ordering on Amazon all the time. How do I know it will ship to the USA and any extra costs doing so? Also, how much is German 7.99 in US dollars?

According to Google, 7.99 EUR = 9.00 USD right now. These things are fluid and can change daily (although not usually by much unless some big international news happens). The exchange rate that Google gives (just literally google "7.99 EUR to USD" and it'll give you the results with a little calculator interface so you can plug in other values) is not always the same as what Amazon uses as a conversion value. You'll have to go through to the final checkout screen and it'll have a little section under the final tally that tells you how much it is in USD and what the EUR to USD conversion is for that transaction.** I find that for whatever reason it's usually a little worse than Google says. So if Google says that it's $1.13 per 1 EUR, I would just assume it's probably going to have an Amazon conersion of more like $1.15 to $1.20, somewhere in that range.
If you want to see the page in English, use Chrome web browser and you can right-click anywhere on the page and select "Translate to English", it works pretty well, though I find that sometimes the buttons like Add To Card, Checkout, etc don't work when the page is in Translated mode, so you'll have to translate it, see what the page says, then disable the translation to make your final clicks. I hope that's helpful enough to get you through. ** This only works as long as you don't have any items in your cart that will ship in more than a week or two from the date of order. Because of the fluidity and potential changes in currency exchange rates over time, they won't quote you a conversion rate for transactions that will charge your credit card more than 1 or 2 weeks from the date of the order. If your order is set to ship immediately, then you'll get a quoted currency exchange rate locked in and they'll show that to you a the checkout screen. For example, if your order contains a pre-order that comes out more than 1 or 2 weeks from now (I keep saying 1 or 2 weeks because I can't remember if it's 1 or 2 weeks, but it is a set specified range), it won't show you the currency exchange rate conversion for that transaction because they can't guarantee what it will be in the world market that far in the future. Hopefully that all makes sense. Last edited by callahan09; 08-24-2016 at 06:25 PM. |

I'm so used to buying from Amazon Germany, France & Italy that the language doesn't faze me these days, just click the right boxes, & when you put your password in they have the right address, just check the last page before you confirm, it's easy, & once you've done it once, you'll be buying from all over Europe

Last time I tried to order stuff third party, it will let you know in the checkout process in big red letters if a seller won't be able to ship to you internationally. Had to peruse the marketplace for alternates on a few items, but I rarely found it problematic.

With regards to exchange rates, you might find this link useful, I use it often.

Ordered two Blu-rays from Amazon DE on August 12th. It shipped/dispatched on August 16th and the expected date was September 2nd. I've yet to receive my order even though I usually order from Amazon UK and it gets to my location quite fast.
First time ordering from Amazon DE. Was shipped/handled by Asendia and I know the tracking is nothing when it's from overseas. Should I wait awhile longer? Should I have already received my order? Should I ask for another shipment? Ordered these two. ![]() ![]() |

But the L.A. Confidential I ordered from Amazon JP arrived in less than 5 days with the same shipping choice selected. So I should wait for it to arrive today or anyway from the 6th to the 20th. Easier when other friends order stuff for me sometimes. Especially regarding my DE titles in my Owned list in my FilmAF signature. |

Oh yes it was. I gave the USA Blu-ray disc to my Mom one time when I visited her. The bonus features are on a separate disc.

Despite my close proximity to Germany even I have had to wait longer than usual for a parcel to arrive. The order in question was, strangely enough, also for Strange Days! |
