Blu-ray Samurai

I was at BEST BUY yesterday. Found the blu-ray display and <shock> movies I actually wanted to buy!
The Terminator, T2: Judgement Day, and The Fifth Element. Not crazy about the last one, but it is so good that's I'd get it in blu-ray. 25 frikken bucks each! Who prices these things, Dr. Evil? Meanwhile, the other titles su-diddly-ucked. Were it not for the format war, I'd be tempted to at least pick up the movies. Meanwhile, I don't really see HD-DVD on display any where. If the biggest electronics retailers don't carry them, what are the chances of HD-DVD making it? Pretty slim. Like I have said, I will buy one when they settle this hash. Hopefully by the release of Spiderman 3. I want all 3 in hi-def format. Last edited by tron3; 07-31-2006 at 01:03 PM. |

The HD-DVD players at my Best Buy has a good location, but normally isn;t seen unless some one specifically asks to see it. Blu-ray on the other other hand has prime real estate for all to seen BD blazing on the Samsung 1080p LCD. |

$25 is excessive, you get get most everything for $19.95 from amazon, even lower if you buy them through amazon marketplace second hand.

Yeah i bet blu-ray paid top dollar for a good end cap from best buy and toshiba just didn't want to shell out the huge cash for a good end cap. I don't think thats a good decision on Toshiba's part but what can you do.

I'm sure they will be fixing the codec before they start releasing a lot of huge blockbusters because they rely on the dvd and other format sales to improve the profitability of those movies and so they will want people to be snatching them up.
