Default 1-disc vs. 2/3/4/5-discs Editions: do they hold their value?

Movies nowadays come in 2 to 3 different packs:

1-disc Blu-ray Only
2-discs Blu-ray & DVD Disc
3 or more discs (Blu-ray + DVD + Special Feat. + 3D + Dig Copy) and the list goes on.

Most of the time the single Blu-ray disc edition will not bring a slipcover (sucks), so you;re forced to buy the one with the DVD to have the slipcover (in case you like to collect them)

But lets talk about the Disney ones for example:

The 2 disc combos (Blu-ray + DVD) vs. the 3 disc combos (BD+DVD+Dig.Copy), they come with slipcovers with different color borders.

So the big question is:

would one be worth more down the road than the other one?

I usually try to avoid the DVD or the Dig. Copies (because they have an expiration date). So as a collector this takes me to the second question:

Which edition is supposed to be the ONE, the MAIN ONE?

I'm trying to complete my Disney Animated Films + Pixar Films with what has been released up to now. However i find it a bit of annoying when different packs have different artworks , like these:

and then to add insult to injury, they decide to release Wreck-it-Ralph 3D edition in gold color unlike all the Disney 3D editions which are Silver, what gives!!!
