...multiple threads on this forum that are titled "<insert movie name here> blu-ray !" and when you click on them are only "wish this is released on blu-ray". When there is no actual announcement or confirmation of a blu-ray release, the title is simply misleading. There is not even any discussion of the film itself, only an empirical mention of its box office receipts, which means BS, unless you're getting any of that money.
I request the posters of such threads, do not label your thread as "blu-ray" threads unless you have some confirmation on this aspect. Alternatively, just make a blu-ray wishlist thread where you can lump all your wishes together. |

What I find more annoying is four or five threads for a single movie - one for talking about it when it's in theatres, one for asking about the release date of the BD, another stating the official announcement, another for discussing the BD, and finally one more for posting screenshots. God forbid some place has a sale on the title..

At least they are fine..
In my opinion, the threads about the home theater and projectors have no place here. This site has separate section for that. I often looked Home theater section for suggestions/information when I was setting up my home theater. It would be useful to others who seek information on Home theater setup if moved to correct section. Also there was a thread for discussing music... I followed the thread for sometime. Very Good information really. But again there is a section for music in this site... My humble opinion... |

Whenever I see new thread regarding some movie I would feel happy thinking that finally there is some blu-ray information regarding this movie. But when I read it its just "hope this gets released" or "he / she acted well etc"...
People seriously there are many more forums for discussion about movies. Lets make this forum just for discussing about blu-ray's |

@rcrajan:
I see your point, but the issue here is not of whether a thread is relevant to Indian blu-rays or not. Given the rate of Indian releases we have, and given that many of the members of this forum import their non-Indian movie/TV blu-rays from abroad, there is precious little to discuss if we only stick to the topic of Indian blu-ray releases. In fact I'm surprised that these boards continue to have a special hub for Indian blu-rays when Hong Kong, which probably has more BD releases than us, is sharing with China and Japan and others in a common "Asia" forum. The issue is more of misleading the members, inadvertently or otherwise, by naming a thread as a "blu-ray" thread when there is no actual information of a blu-ray release, and spawning multiple threads of that same type. And the topics you have mentioned at least have some good meaningful discussion in them, something totally absent in these threads. |
