Default Night at The Museum.

This is actually a question for anyone who knows.
Since im brand new here does anyone know if night at the museum is coming out on bluray the same day as regular dvd.I read on afew sites and theres no mention of the bluray anywhere, just the standard. Now another question is are bluray movies gonna eventually be released the same day as standard dvds, how long do you think this is gonna take, because some have like click and stranger than fiction {feb 24th},but how long till everything comes out the same day?

Has it been announced for DVD yet?

I would expect an announcement at the same time as DVD. In my opinion, Fox WILL make this day and date.

I'm pretty sure I read somewhere at CES where Fox specifically mentioned this as a day and date titel with the DVD.

Default Night at the Museum Detailed

Quote:
'Night At The Museum' Blu-ray Disc Details
March 30, 2007

Twentieth Century Fox Home Entertainment has officially announced 'Night at the Museum' will be released on Blu-ray Disc April 24. With all the catalog titles Fox has pulled back, this is the last known Fox Blu-ray Disc with a scheduled release date.

'Night at the Museum' will be presented in widescreen 1080p video and DTS-HD Master lossless audio. Following the pattern used with 'Eragon,' extra features will be limited to those found on the single-disc DVD release: commentaries by Shawn Levy and film’s writers, Robert Ben Garant and Thomas Lennon. In case you're wondering, the extras found on the two-disc DVD that will not appear on Blu-ray include deleted scenes, a blooper reel, an alternate beginning, seven featurettes, storyboard comparisons and theatrical trailers.

Maybe this is the wrong thread to ask this in, but in general: "Everyone" (meaning studios, insiders, tech guys, etc.) has known that both of these HD formats were coming for quite some time.

That being said: It just seems like some studios, like Fox, got caught unawares, unprepared, and/or "caught with their pants down" so to speak.

And then I can go to forums and see some people harp on why HD-DVD is better because "it's cheaper and has more special features."

I just don't understand what's gone wrong here with Fox, for example.

Fox will not give up their right to make you double-dip, not even for Blu-ray. I don't care about extras, so I love what Fox is doing right now (besides the lag in getting titles out).

I'll be picking this title up. I guess with the announcement this close, I would assume that this one isn't getting bumped.

Silly me. I forgot about this simple truth.

I've been very pleased with their discs thus far.

Ah well...delays usually mean better things in the long run when it comes to stuff like this.

I'll definitely be getting Night at the Musem when it comes out.

For clarification... rent the dvd to see the extras. I pre-ordered the BD yesterday at buy . com (good price)

When the double-dip comes around it'll be decision time.

What irritates me about Fox is that they don't give you the extra stuff that would be on the second disc, but their discs are priced higher than other studio's movies. Older movies like Men of Honor, Sentinal, League of Extroadinary Gentlemen and AVP are priced to what other studios price their newer titles at (Fox is usually $5 more)

A correct criticism indeed.

One thing they forgot to mention it's going to be MPEG-2 on a BD-25 so don't expect the best transfer like the BD-50s.

Also no mention of when they titles they pulled would be released or if they would be released.

Besides "Eragon" & "Night At The Museum" they have been missin in action.

Sorry I'm a little pissed at them at the moment. Pulling "Mr & Mrs Smith" on release date with no prior info it would happen. I'm sure it made retailers who had pre-orders & people that were expecting to buy it very happy.

If they would just release a press release to say when the titles pulled would be coming out if they are & why they are doing this I think alot of people (myself included) would feel better about it.

It wouldn't surprise me if they pulled "Night At The Museum" at the last minute like they did the others. I hope not because I have it on pre-order but it wouldn't surprise me.

Fox please get your act together. Put the titles you've announced back on your release schedule & please start putting your titles out on BD-50s with AVC encoding for better transfers. Sony has stepped up to the plate promising BD-50 transfers so they would be better. If you're going to support a format then support it.

What happened to all the cheerleading you gave at CES & then start pulling all your titles? It's giving your studio a bad name. No one has any info. Who is over your press department?

I put my preorder in at amazon when I first saw it listed there. Don't care about the extras, just waiting for Sony to put DTS MA on the PS3.

Well the trailer I've seen on BDs has shots that look sharper than the IMAX presentation I saw so I have high hopes for the disc.
