Bring "brick" to bluray petition!!! Please sign!!! - Blu-ray Forum

(I don't know if this is breaking some sort of forum rule, so please let me know if it is)

Ive put together a petition to get Rian Johnson's "Brick" on to bluray in the states. On Rian's forums, he said that Focus Features has no intention of ever releasing Brick on to bluray in the states, and I think something should be done about it. This is a great film by a fantastic writer and director and deserves the blu treatment. Their reasoning behind not releasing it is "Noir and Thrillers don't sell on bluray." I don't think I have to point out the idiocy of that statement. Please sign this petition so we can show them there is an audience for such a great film. If you know of other places to post this, please do, as I've only posted here and on Rians forums. Lets get this amazing flick on bluray!!!!

Brick is available for Region A and B viewers already. Why can't you buy the Canadian disc? Are the delivery fees high?

This. If you love it so much, just buy it on Amazon already. It's even got deleted scenes plus a commentary. You can get the Canadian blu ray for like $20 from a number of sellers on the U.S. Amazon site...

Dont you think there's room for improvement on the transfer?

I'd be about $30 for me to import it, as well as buy it on amazon. I just dont see a reason for it to not have a U.S release, not only that, NEVER HAVE ONE??? I cant believe they went as far to say they will never release it. Thats crazy, provided they stick to it.

I've seen it. It's fine. Just buy it if you love it so much, since you'll likely be waiting forever for another North American release.

Why is it sad? I've bought lots of films from other countries which are not available in Britain. I think it's a good idea to think in regions rather than individual countries when it comes to buying Blu-rays.

What I mean is its sad that Focus feels the way they do about the film, and say they will never release it. I just dont understand the logic behind it. Thought I could give a petition a try and see what happened.

I guess. But seeing as how it's already readily available for purchase in the States in a native Region A version, I don't really see the issue. If American fans really want it, it's there for the taking. Obviously projected sales of this title aren't high enough to justify another release. What's not to understand?

Your petition is a waste of time - sorry to be so blunt, but you don't know better than the studio in this scenario.
