Honestly, I find myself watching a lot of main features at 1.5 speed.
I always start watching them at normal speed, but, if my attention starts to wonder or I start to get annoyed with the film, it get kicks up to 1.5 speed. If I still find myself bored/annoyed, then it gets ejected. |

I'll mostly watch special features if I really like the movie, so I haven't sped through any yet. I recently watched "The Shark is Still Working" a nearly 2 hour documentary that came with Jaws, and I wish it was longer, it was that great.

yeah I can keep up with the dialogue (subtitles help there) and I don't really need to see someone in a chair talk for a long while

for most movies I can careless about special features but I still glance at them incase there is anything important. So I always do this so it gets done a lot faster. I watch a lot of movies (not blu unless it is a re-watch) on my computer at like 1.30x or 1.40x just to finish more quick. I have tons of movies and shows I want to watch so I need to get them finished as quick as possible. |

I should ty this. Usually I just let it play and occupy myself with something else, just keeping an ear open for what's being said in the feature. Like someone said, they're mostly just talking heads anyway.
Normally I don't like the standard documentary style special feature. They all feel so cookie cutter now. I prefer to just see "fly on the wall" behind the scenes footage of people actually working on the film. I enjoy seeing equipment being used, directors directing, orchestras recording, etc. "Prodcution diary" special features are probably a good middle ground. More like an on-the-spot documentary rather than a retrospective. |
