Not to dull your roar or anything, but please Sony does not need an ego boost by you or any other consumer beyond the purchase of the product.

I live in a 'kingless' society; and don't plan on giving Sony the crown. I support blu like the rest. I give Sony props for inventing the technology and bringing it to the forefront; but far from King especially since if/when the format war is over I believe some of the other manufacturers stand-alones will out sell Sony easily.

In my mind, a crown means dictator, a crown means that they are the best and need no challenge to any decision; this kind of crown is something no one should have.

I started to really believe that Sony would in fact reign supreme as our HD King until you gave me all those serious reasons why this would and should not happen.

p.s. this is silly.

Please SONY does not equal Blu-ray. No wonder the HD DVD fanboy's are getting confused. Sony is an integral part of Blu-ray, but there are many other companies very heavily involved as well. This is one of many big advantages Blu-ray has. It's possible that Sony's involvement in the latest developments were very small compared to others. Exactly who was doing what may never become public knowledge, so the safest bet is go crown the BDA (however last I heard Blu-ray was a republic, not a monarchy).

One guy invented the spec even though it was passed through various companies who got the credit. Can't remember his name at this point.

I didn't say SONY the king cuz it would sell the most BluRay products cuz the cheaper ones always sell more, given fact. (well, SONY'e been the king since 1979, in fact)

no other comapnies tie HD products like SONY, with PS3, TV, Camera, Walkman, Phone, Computer, Music and Movies, and the possiblities for SONY is endless, maybe for other companies as well, but look at their company history and plans for the future, no one can touch SONY on this one!!!

with absolutly dominant sales figure in almost everything HD, it rules all other companies, and simple the King of them all, the King of HD age (SONY did it, yet again)

btw, I support SONY by spending an average of 100,000 or more on their products every year, so it is also very important for me giving them an ego booster!!!

you got it all wrong

king of HD age means a company that not only has something to do with one or some HD formats in some ways, but like SONY, it has everything to do with everything HD and tie them amazingly giving consumer the ultimate HD exprince like no other comapnies can do or at least not doing!!!

who care about a sinlge BluRay or HDMI, it only represent a portion of HD age, so neither BDA nor Harry Dimitrious and Michael Imahara come even close to be anything like a king, at best an advisor which can be killed at anytime if the king likes.

so look at the bigger picture, read some of SONY history and get a sense of the company's vision, maybe then you'll understand why I said SONY is the king of HD age.

O please, you know why Blu-ray will win? P-S-3. Who created that? Sony. Without Sony blu-ray would be even with HD-DVD or losing.
