On 26th December 2012, Arrow Films will release Ron Fricke's Samsara. They will also re-release Baraka, which is currently out by Second Sight. Baraka/Samsara two-pack is also released on the same day.

First I hear news of two legendary Attenborough titles coming out soon, then this, all in the same year. It is a good Blu year for me

I can't see any sign of a set otherwise it would be pre-ordered by now.

EDIT: Play now have it advertised for £17.99, due for release on 14 January 2013 . . . pre-ordered

Why, not satisfied with the existing one? It's damn near reference quality ...

Can someone kindly give me the lowdown on these please? I've only seen a trailer for Samsara and thought it looked interesting. They're documentaries are they? I know nothing about them apart from seeing that trailer

I haven't seen either of them, but from what I understand they are essentially beautiful, thematically linked montages of some pretty spectacular people and places in the world. Filmed in 70mm. They aren't documentaries with a voiceover or narrative as far as I'm aware, more a mix of music and visuals. But maybe other people can give more info...
