Back in 2004, when the DVD era began to blossom, Schindler's List was released on DVD. Now there was a simple DVD of the film, it was a Two-sided disc with part 1 on side one and part 2 + bonus features on side 2. But then there was this
![]() A mammoth two disc edition with the film, it's soundtrack on CD, a sentype, a limited edition book, and a certificate of authenticity, all housed in an oversized plexiglass case. Here is an image of its contents ![]() I want to simply discuss this edition of the film, sadly OOP. |

What was in the book? Anything interesting, or just some stills and the names on the list? |

Oh, I'm sorry if it seems like that. I should have worded it differently or something like that. Yes, the plexiglass case is cool, and it's bigger then you think! It's edges are very sharp and it's about the size of a small blu-Ray player. The book that comes with it is interesting too. While it isn't behind-the scenes stuff, it's some neat images from the film along with a promotional shot of Liam Neeson and The Girl in the red coat. There's also a forward by Steven Speilberg himself! |

If I remember correctly the glass cracking was a common problem and Universal stopped shipping them to stores due to it. Pretty soon after in 2005 they started showing up at Frys, Suncoast and similar stores for clearance prices. I was living in Burbank at the time and a friend and I picked it up for 14.99.
Once we opened it my friends had a small crack but mine did not. We also were able to pick up a great deal on the matrix/neo bust set the same day. $19.99! Which was a steal at the time. I still have both sets and they are great shape sitting on my shelf. (Never once watched ![]() |

Also I own the 4 Film favorites version of The Matrix but I absolutely love the packaging for the set with the Neo bust. The bust I really don't like, but I love how the films/Bonus features are packaged like CDs you slide out. That's cool bro! |

I snagged mine at FYE in 05-06 for less than the cost of the standard DVD and The Matrix Box set with Neo bust and some other large editions for cheap.
I sold all of them for far more than I paid. When Schindler's List was released on Blu-ray, I was quite disappointed in the US presentation in comparison to this nice edition. |
