Video commentary done by IGN on the PC version of the new Tomb Raider game.

I must say, I bought the PS3 version but might have to return it and get the PC version after watching this video.

From whatever reason, it looks like the PC version of the game is currently only available via download. It is currently on Steam for $49.99.

The PC version is very good looking, hopefully Nvidia gets a fix so the game is more stable.

Driver issue should be fixed soon. Square announced today that Nvidia was not given the final code of this game until today.

It looks like the PC patch has been released fixing the issues. Looks like I may be picking this up soon on Steam...

- Some fixes for crashes on startup and when selecting Options.

- Fixes for various graphics glitches, including certain effects not being visible in fullscreen mode.
- Fixed a problem that caused some users to not be able to use exclusive fullscreen.
- Added support for separate mouse/gamepad inversion for aiming, as well as support for x-axis inversion.
- Fixes related to the benchmark scene and benchmark mode.
- Various other small fixes.

While we expect this patch to be an improvement for everyone. If you do have trouble with this patch and prefer to stay on the old version we made a Beta available on Steam, Build716.5, that can be used to switch back to the previous version. Please note however that you can only play multiplayer with people that share your version.

Some people are still reporting issues with crashing on Keplar based GTX 600 series cards after the update. (This is only with tessellation enabled.)

I haven't had any crashes since the update myself on my Titan which is Keplar based and "Ultimate" settings. Here are some screenshots I took in game.

I installed them earlier today and have been playing a bit and see a noticeable performance improvement.

It is most likely a combination of the drivers and the game update they pushed out last night.

This is on "Ultimate" settings at 1080p where I used to not even break 90fps and the average was high 50s http://cloud-2.steampowered.com/ugc/...34AEE29936634/

how can I tell if my game has already downloaded the patch? I dont recall seeing an update being applied. Last night was the first night I was able to play with tesselation turned on with out it crashing on me, but I also downloaded the new Nvidia drivers. This game is just amazing by the way!

Did you download on Steam? If so, steam will auto patch the game for you.

I don't think that Square has released an update patch for this game yet. I could be wrong... but I don't remember seeing one, or hearing about one yet.

Only patch I am aware of is the Nvidia drivers one.

Did you download through Steam? I've waited to purchase but will be returning the PS3 version and purchasing the PC version.

Yeah I went through Steam, so there update is seemless, I dont get prompted to update or anything?

Yes, I downloaded via Steam.

And the PC version of this game is a beautiful site to see. I was at a bbq this past weekend where the host was showing off the ps3 version of this game to everyone there. All I could do was hold back my laughter with how much better the PC game was.

Nope. Will just update the next time you start it up or log in.

So if you restart steam now and it doesn't start downloading. you already have it.

Updates are seemless.

Steam will show you when it is downloading a new patch via the download screen or via their bottom download toolbar.

Still trying to decide if 2xSSAA is worth the performance hit over FXAA.
I average 30-35 with 2X, and 45 with FXAA.

Also while I have not had any crashes, I did get the wonky kaleidoscope effect where the screen goes crazy.

It's the best game I've played since Arkham City. THe combats are phenomenally cool. I've already completed 3 times.

I am taking my time.. Just heading up steam now... but I want to finish this by Wednesday to play me some Bioshock.

I finally started playing this last week. What a beautiful games on PC. I am so glad I opted for this version and returned the PS3 version.
