Australia When will Memento come to Australia?

Okay, so recently, Memento has been released for the 2nd time on Bray in the states (10th Anniversary Edition) and basically I'm wondering if we're going to get it, and when?

Thanks in advance

Really hard to tell for this one..... the rights are all over the shop for it!

US was Sony, now it's Lionsgate. In the UK it's Pathe (Fox) and the DVD release here was Buena Vista/Disney!

You would think it would come out being that it's critically acclaimed and Nolan now has the attention of the movie-going public in general. Having said that, who knows when! When it does come out the question will be what will the transfer be like. All of them have been quite different and who knows whether one of them or a different one would end up on an Australian disc. That's why I picked up the newly released US one. I'm not waiting any longer for this film. I like it too much to not get.

Was thinking of picking up the US one as well but it's Region A locked isn't it? Most of our Australian Blu Ray players are locked to Region B, aren't they?

Yes and yes to your questions.

Players that can be made region free include the Soniq and AMTC players though not all can. They are region changeable by code. Then there are some players which can be chipped such as some Panasonics. You've also got the Oppo if you're importing and got $$$$$ - that can be chipped too.

Someone needs to release the 10th anniversary edition in Australia... NOW!
It can't even be found on DVD at JB HiFi and EzyDVD websites?

Right there with ya, pal. Been waiting for a while now. I would recommend grabbing the 'standard' UK version from amazon.co.uk - Region B coded, reasonably cheap and it's the same transfer as the 10th Anniversary Edition. Just make sure you buy a few other treats to bump that Basket up to 25 pounds or over, so you don't have to pay for shipping - totally worth it then.

UK release uses the older transfer. Only the Lionsgate release uses the newer transfer.

I got a LASER blu-ray player from Harvey Norman for $98. It plays multi-region by changing the region code. Have played many of my criterions on it so can confirm it works. Good player too.

Australia Memento In Australia

Hi,
Memento just came out in Australia on DVD so if you can't wait for a blu-ray release go to amazon.uk and buy the region b UK blu ray, it works fine- I've got it. You can check the region by scrolling down to the product information.

^ It's been out for years on DVD. It looks like it just got a re-release though. And yep, the UK is the same region for us with Blu-ray so all UK releases will work here in Australia.

Welcome to the site.

Because it's an old thread, to be fair he posted that on 02/01/12 when the offer was still valid.

Oh well, this needs a local release soon.

You don't need to chip PS3s to make them region free.
http://forums.dashhacks.com/ps3-help...d-regions.html

But one can get a decent region free blu ray player for about $100 and/or order Memento from the UK as others have suggested

I've just purchased the australian blu-ray of memento and was wondering if anyone could help me access the Easter eggs (hopeful the chronological version).

I presume the chronological version is an ester egg because of the running time (320min) of the blu-ray as listed on the official Australian classification website - http://www.classification.gov.au/Pag...Bx5dgHCFjMngHV

and also because there is a special feature listed on the JBHIFI webiste as 'easter eggs' although this is not listed on the actual blu ray cover - http://www.jbhifionline.com.au/dvd/d...blu-ray/680589

Can anyone who as the Australian blu-ray help me access the chronological version of the film? Thanks in advance!

I remember that the deluxe 2-disc dvd had the commentary but not the latest U.S. Bluray so maybe we got the deluxe dvd on Blu.
