USA HANGAR 18 (1980) - Pre-orders WOW

https://www.blu-ray.com/movies/Hangar-18-Blu-ray/70813/

Quote:
A shocking story of government cover-up in space! What would happen is a UFO was to crash-land on Earth? What the government let us know? Or would they fear nationwide panic and keep it under cover? This intense thriller opens as two astronauts (Gary Collins and James Hampton) are deploying a satellite from a space shuttle when it collides with an unidentified object. The object makes a crippled but safe landing in the remote southwestern desert where it is quickly carted off by government agencies to a secret Air Force base. Meanwhile, the two astronauts are back on earth and are anxious to know what happened, but no one is talking. When they begin to investigate they learn that the government will stop at nothing to keep them from discovering the truth! The stellar cast includes Darren McGavin (A Christmas Story), Robert Vaughn (The Man From U.N.C.L.E.) and Pamela Bellwood (Dynasty). Stylishly directed by James L. Conway (The Boogens) who also co-wrote the story.
Man, Ive seen this movie like 30 times!!! I remember I bought it when I was a teenager on VHS, and I destroyed the tape of so many watches....Huighly recommended terrible movie!!!

Pre orders up.............release date 06/25

I remember seeing the trailer for this and then the movie, and the first time I saw a movie that didn't have everything in it from the trailer.

I saw it at the drive in when I was 9, I liked it but was disappointed that it was missing footage. Of course I couldn't tell you what they were now...

I loved this movie when I was a kid!

I will definitely get the Blu-ray eventually even though I know the movie is not that good.

This was a "season 0" episode of MST3K, back when it was a local show on KTMA. I've seen the bootleg. The show wasn't quite up to snuff yet and was mostly adlibbed. Still, it's always interesting to me when a movie they riffed on gets the BD treatment. I might just pick this one up eventually. Just because.

I'm on Blu-ray.com almost daily and somehow this announcement slipped under my radar. I wasn't expecting this on Blu anytime soon and certainly not from Olive films.

And now I see the review and the screencaps look excellent! I just wish it was selling for less. $24.99 seems a bit high, but man I love this silly, flawed film!

Disappointed there are no bonus features mentioned in the review. A commentary was announced along with the Blu on some sites and the director provided a solid one for The Boogens last year. I'll still pick it up, but no special features puts it a bit lower on my wishlist.

Oh wow. That's significantly cheaper. I wonder how much money I could have saved on all those John Wayne movies I bought from Amazon.

I will be picking this release up in the next week or so myself, I can't even count how many times as a kid I watched this thing. I am super excited about seeing this release in a format other than 1.33.

I know this movie is pure god awful cheese....but I still want it in my collection.
