"Sea Rex 3D was first launched theatrically in the US in June 2010 and benefitted from a staggered domestic distribution pattern before expanding to international territories. It has been sold in 29 countries to date, including key markets such as Canada, China, Mexico, France, Germany, the United Kingdom, Denmark, Poland, Russia, Japan, Taiwan and Australia. Sea Rex 3D has already grossed USD 11 million at the box office, 5 million of which was generated in the US domestic market. 81 IMAX theatre engagements have now been signed for the film."

interesting... it never played in Washington DC

this film looks a lot like the other dinosaur IMAX 3D movie:

I picked this up in the Best Buy clearance sale in the UK recently and got around to watching it.

After the disappointment that was the borefest Flying Monsters, I had all but given up on bloody dinosaur 3D movies!! However, I pressed play on Sea Rex with an open(ish) mind. Well I can say I was impressed! The story and history revealed in the doc is interesting, educational and entertaining. It contained some very nice depth separation and some lovely pop out (courtesy of the pleaseousaurs and other long necked beasties. Very nice. I did find the palette a little washed out though a lot of the times and had to keep removing my spex in case they needed cleaning! I had the pretty much same experience with Flying Monsters too .. goodness knows why!

I just got done watching this from Samsung's streaming "Explore 3D" app. I was absolutely blown away by this. The CGI here was some of the best I've seen from any IMAX feature. The 3D was jaw-dropping gorgeous, with heavy amounts of depth and many pop-outs. I also found it pretty entertaining and I felt I learned some cool stuff too.
