Game of Thrones, Orphan Black, and Twin Peaks were not eligible this year because they didn't air during the eligibility window. In addition the season of Orange is the New Black that was eligible was season 4, which aired in 2016, not season 5 which was released last month.

The Emmy eligibility window is June 1-May 31. Season six of Game of Thrones had six of it's ten episodes air before May 31, 2016 so the season as a whole was eligible for the 2016 Emmy's.

I wish the Emmy's would get over their love of House of Cards. I have no problem with Robin Wright getting a nomination but there's no way Kevin Spacey or the show itself should even be considered for a nomination. The show has gotten progressively worse each year and the last season was borderline terrible. Most likely nearly all of the voters didn't actually watch any of the season and just voted for it because it used to be good and Spacey is an Oscar winner and the Emmy's love Oscar winners.

The Leftovers not getting any love for the final season is a total joke. I know HBO campaigned more for Westworld, but still. At least Ann Dowd stands a good chance and Carrie Coon got in for Fargo.

The show jumped the shark like 2 seasons ago. Tatiana should've won that year Robin won.

It's not like they watch every episode of every show. Once the Emmys likes you, they won't stop liking you. See John Larroquette and Dennis Franz.

Because apart from the finale it was pretty much unwatchable.

Agreed. It was the best thing on TV. HoC getting nominated is a joke. Same with Stranger Things(which I like but, Best Drama, really?) and This is Us.

Agree completely. Spacey was also horrible this season and in no way deserving of a nomination.

Really disappointed that Michael McKean didn't get a nod for Better Call Saul. The first two seasons he was alright, but he was absolutely riveting in season three and I thought for sure his meltdown scene alone would have the Emmy in the bag.

Kidman is winning this, easily. I'm so so confident in that, that if she doesn't win, I'll post a video of me eating my boxers.

Glad to see De Niro is finally an Emmy nom. He should do theater next and get a Tony nom.

As much as I love Jon Banks and his protrayal of Mike in Better Call Saul, Michael Mckean not getting nominated is a flat-out insult. He gave easily the best male performance of this year and completely owned the latest season of that show.

Carrie Coon not getting nominated for Leftovers is perhaps the single biggest Awards ceremony snub I think I've ever seen. It's right up there with John Candy never being nominated by the Acadamy, the Golden Globes, pretty much any "serious" award body for Plains, Trains & Automobiles and Miller's Crossing also being snubbed by every awards body.

The Emmy board can go swivel (is it ATAS?), this is why they're imo easily the worst of all these awards bodies. As someone said earlier they nominate based on the kinda show they think will be popular choices with a heavy bias towards "flavour of the year" bullshit nominees and winners who they will swiftly forget about 12months later.
