Hi everyone,
I've had my computer for almost 5-6 years now and I really need a new one. Currently looking for a gaming laptop because I don't want a ''normal'' computer anymore, takes up alot of space in my room and the only game I play on my computer is The Lord of the Rings Online.. My budget will be around 1000,-/ 1200,- euro...browsed the internet today and found these 2 setups. Wich would be the best? http://gamepc.nl/game-laptops/1235 & http://gamepc.nl/game-laptops/1250 Both have the same price. No idea wich would be the best... ![]() |

I play LOTRO, and if I were buying a laptop to play on I'd go with:
http://gamepc.nl/game-laptops/1235 It has a faster video card than the other one you posted. |

Its actually a tough call, one has a really good cpu with an average gpu, the other has a really good gpu with a meh cpu. Id like for a machine with a better balance to be honest |

Then how about maybe trying to help by suggesting one you would recommend?
I took the OP's budget, intended use and options into consideration and suggested which of the two they posted would be best suited. As I stated before LOTRO is far less CPU bound than it is GPU. |

No one said otherwise. But for the OP's needs, a more powerful GPU is best.
*EDIT* Found a link once posted on the LOTRO forums to illustrate just how little CPU/APU is needed for the game to run: http://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/...2,2905-13.html Quote:

"well if thats the case then the other system will be plenty for the game as well, but wont suck in other areas like the A10 would " ill even re-word it You argue that even a basic apu can run the game, which means the GT650M in the other laptop should be more than enough, but in everyday use the I7 will stomp the crap out of the A10 APU. Only way id recommend an APU is if thats the only chip in the system, if you are running a dedicated graphics card, intel is what you want to pair it with |

But seeing as how the OP asked for a laptop with an emphasis on gaming, particularly LOTRO, I looked at the two options and made my recommendation based on my experience playing the game myself.
If the OP is concerned about performance in areas where CPU is more important, they could say, so that could be addressed. Otherwise, you're arguing a moot point. |
