What is the likelihood of this movie coming out on Blu-ray in the U.S.? I see that it came out in May of this year in Australia, I believe. But what about here?
Strangely enough Best Buy claims to have it in stock with the exact same release date as the Australian release of 5/6/16: http://www.bestbuy.com/site/the-moth...skuId=31429213 What is this? I didn't know Best Buy sold imports. Just trying to figure out my best way to buy this. |

It's not the freshest of transfers, but that is somewhat appropriate considering tbe tone and atmosphere of the movie. The disc ports most, if not all, of the DVD extra features, but I can't be certain.
There may be a moment of forced German subs, too. I know this occurs on one of the Australian imports I own, but I can't remember which one. I think it's worth buying nonetheless. |

This is a horror film that gets better with age. It's drenched with atmosphere, and the climax of the movie is just an excellent payoff. |

This Aussie version is probably sourced from the German one. I just tracked my order. I'll receive it tomorrow already. So funny. I was always waiting for this on blu-ray. Every time I checked, there was exclusively only the German disc. Never even knew there was an Australian release. Pleasant surprise |

TMP is a great film, and creepy as he$$; very horrific at times, without being gory. The whole ringing phone & the Gere character just glimpsing his dead wife "out of the corner of his eye" was extremely unsettling.
IMHO this is one of Gere's best films, along with Primal Fear, Days of Heaven, and Norman: The Moderate Rise and Tragic Fall of a New York Fixer. |
