Default The Official " Pushing Daisies is AWESOME!" thread

How did I miss this show???? I'm like 15 minutes into the pilot and I'm loving this. Just quirky and really awesome!

You missed it because it wasn't canceled when it first aired, and we all know you don't like shows that weren't canceled or lasted longer than 2 seasons.

But yeah I started watching when it originally aired, I knew it was too unique to last. It's not a show for the mindless uneducated reality show generation.

The quick banter ala His Girl Friday is a real plus for me! Plus the candy coated set designs really add to it.

And technically it did not go past two seasons so it just slid under the wire! lol

some of the dialogue is just killing me man...

"You can't just come into people's lives, touch them and leave"

"Yes I can, that's how I roll"

lol.

"I didn't mean to kill him. He was ...in proximity"

"B!tch I was in proximity!"

ha ha ha ha ha

No, Groo has a fetish for finding canceled tv shows years after they've ended and than falling in love with them.

How is "Dead like Me"?

I read that it's by the same creator (Bryan Fuller who did the really awesome Heroes episodes, and the wonderful Wonderfalls), and that Pushing Daisies is intended as a "spinoff" of sorts.

Without ruining anything past the 1st episode of PD and anything in Dead like Me, how is it?

Well that is another show I watched from the beginning, if I'm not mistaken it had 3 seasons and 1 or 2 movies years after it ended. I liked it quite a bit from what I remember. Though I don't remember it being anything like 'Daisies' it certainly isn't colorful, though it is a comedy set around death and the main character earning quite a funny nickname due to the circumstances of her death in the opening act. It's focused on reapers, and learning how to take someones soul seconds before they die to save them from pain. If i'm remembering correctly. I'm sure you will like it, but again I don't remember it being anything like 'Daisies'. if anything Dead is the polar opposite of Daisies because it was all about their touch, and Ned can't touch anybody.

The very moment that I knew I would love Pushing Daisies, is when he brought his mom back to life, but then when she bent over to kiss him goodnight, she died instantly, falling backwards onto the floor.

I have no idea why that made me laugh so hard but it did. lol

Almost done with Season 2. I'm on the episode right after Chuck's dad drove off.

Figured I'd post up these, that I found. AWESOME!

and my personal favorites....

and this one where right after Emerson told Ned to "Dick van Dyke that ass" ("accidentally" trip and touch Chuck's dad, thus killing him again)

Dead like Me had 2 seasons and 1 movie. Fuller created the show, but left after the first episode. It more or less retained the style he set out; but it just doesn't come together quite as well as Daisies or Wonderfalls. But it's still a good show in its own right, and pretty cheap these days.

I really enjoyed the 2 seasons of Dead Like Me.
The movie was terrible though. Most of the characters are not in it or have been re casted.
