Hi all,
I see back in March 2012, Jean-Jacques Annuad's The Name of the Rose (Polish: Imię Róży) (1986) was released from Warner as part of their Premium Collection, both on Blu-ray and double DVD. As I detailed here, certain Warner SE 2 DVD editions of this film have a wonderful two-part feature-length documentary on the film, which, so far, has not been ported to any Blu-ray edition. I had thought that Warner stopped including this second DVD some years ago, but now it appears it has resurfaced, at least on the Polish Premium Collection DVD set. Information about the simultaneous Polish Premium Collection Blu-ray is difficult to find, but one site seems to suggest that the extras are identical. I find this a bit hard to believe (as most Warner BDs are identical worldwide), but then again, it would seem a bit unfair to include the documentary in the far cheaper DVD set, and then not at least bundle that DVD with the Blu-ray. Can anyone confirm that the Polish Premium Collection Blu-ray release is identical, and does not include the documentary on the second DVD? Thanks. ![]() Last edited by McCrutchy; 10-26-2012 at 09:13 PM. |

As for this site I wouldn't trust it completely since it has sometimes false information about what they're selling. However the dvd edition of this Premium Collection is simply reissue of the WB set, which couple of years ago was very nice, popular and today very rare Silver Collection (the name came from the additional silver sleeve - here's the list of the titles in this collection) which was the same as SE 2 DVD, so there's no suprise that this documentary is included here also.
As for the BD I can see that the languages are the same as in US edition, so I believe it's pretty much the same contents. |
