Problem with Prometheus Digital Copy - Blu-ray Forum

Is anyone having trouble redeeming their digital copy of Prometheus? I have the big 4-Disc set with 3-D copy. I used the enclosed redemption code for a UV copy and the code worked fine. But I cannot get that same code to work with my iTunes account. It keeps saying it's not a valid code. What's the best way to deal with Fox in regards to a defective redemption code?

The code might be one time use (either or) and since it was redeemed on Vudu the iTunes version is no longer an option. Some studios allow multiple redemptions such as Vudu and iTunes but others only allow one option.

EDIT: Nevermind it should be good for both but I haven't tried redeeming both options as of yet.

i had the same problem, i wrote fox and they sent me instructions on what to do and it worked. i'll post them online in this thread later (i'm a little busy) i did learn that you can't just use the code given in iTunes. look for the posting later tonight, i promise.

Found this information in the Apple forums which mentions that the Fox Digital Copy app found on the disc must be launched. Apparently this app will generate a second iTunes compatible code from the first code.

i had tried initially to simply put the code into itunes directly, that didn't work. i used the disc and got the second code and that didn't work right either. i emailed fox, they responded, i did exactly what they said to do and it worked like a charm.

as promised, here ya go:

Thank you for contacting us! We sincerely apologize for the inconvenience that you are experiencing with your iTunes Digital Copy transfer on your PC. Below we have detailed instructions to allow for the successful redemption of your iTunes Digital Copy. You will first need to launch the Fox Digital Copy program that is located on the Digital Copy disc.

Instructions to Launch the Fox Digital Copy Program

1. Insert the disc into your PC/laptop (if disc is already inserted, proceed to step 2)

2. If the movie begins playing, close out of the program that is playing the movie

3. Open My Computer/Computer

4. Right click on the DVD-ROM drive with the name Plays Everywhere and select Open

5. Double click on the DVDROM folder

6. Double click on the MediaManager folder

7. Double click on the MediaManagerII program

Once the Fox Digital Copy program has successfully launched, please use the following steps in order to redeem the iTunes Digital Copy.

iTunes Digital Copy Transfer Instructions 1. Select Digital Copy.

2. Enter the 16 digit serial number located on the insert and agree to the Terms & Conditions.

3.Select the platform - iTunes.

4.Copy the new 16 digit numeric code and Launch iTunes.

5.Paste the new 16 digit numeric code and click Redeem

6 If you are not logged into your iTunes Store account, you should be prompted to enter your user name and password. Please do not remove the disc until the transfer has completed.

^^^ This worked for me as well. The app automatically launched on my laptop but on my desktop it didn't launch automatically (I believe I disabled that function) and I had to follow the same instructions as posted by solardadd.

I can't believe how complicated they've made the whole digital copy thingi... like freakin' UV wasn't enough...

I went through this last week as well... Usually the codes I get say they are good for all the redemption methods...

This was the first time I had to run the app included on the disc to then generate a new code for iTunes.

It would have helped a LOT if the insert that had the first code actually made mention of that on it!

glad i was able to help out and YES, i have no idea either why they made this so complicated.

it should have been a simple download at their site or simply put it in iTunes or a simple disc to iTunes download.

oh well....

The application didn't work for me. It just generated the same code I put in (that didn't work to begin with).

I also have problems. In mac it just appears a black screen and in windows it appears the xml document error. I've tried several computers and it's the same. I'm thinking now it's a disc problem.

It seems that gives you the iTunes code use your IP to know if you're in the USA. As I'm in Mexico, it won't work.

I've got the same error (on two pc's). Can't figure out a way around it either or find any online solution.

Edit: Got it to work using a proxy server but itunes says the code it generated has already been used by another account. Never had this much of a problem with a digital copy before.

The fastest to get a resolution is to call the toll free number for support. My digital copy kept saying "invalid code" when I got home from Best Buy. When I called, I explained my problem to the tech support guy, and had a new code within five minutes.

Means you won't get the iTunes version.

You can use the VUDU DC. That's what I did as I despise Apple as well.
