On the Little Mermaid Thread there has been lots of questions regarding the replacement program and saying "I haven't read the thread so what do I do?" well, this is all you have to do and it's all quite simple.
DISNEY IS ONLY REPLACING THE 2D BLU-RAY AND DVD OF THE SETS! -Contact Disney via phone or web: Quote:
REPLACEMENT PROGRAM IS FREE. THEY COVER ALL CHARGES. When you ship it out, they say it may take 4-6 weeks, but from past experience, it only takes a week or two the most. The reason for this replacement program is an out of sync issue, you can see in the video below REPLACEMENT DISC: Quote:
ALL VERSIONS HAVE THIS ERROR! EXCEPT JAPAN If you have any questions just leave them below. I RECEIVED REPLACEMENT Contacted 10/2/13, received label 10/7/13, shipped error discs 10/7/13, received replacement 11/4/2013 Update: Disney placed the film back into the Vault, so they might not continue the replacement program, but there's been successful attempts at receiving a replacement. Can we please stop the trolling. This thread is used for those who would like contact info etc in the replacement program. The thread is helpful to find info in one place rather then trying to search The Little Mermaid master thread.

The edit is reversed causing Ariel to still be singing and the animation of her body emoting to the song, yet she is no longer singing on the error of that swapped shot edit. Many don't care about the edit and many do. It is optional if you feel you would like it as it was originally created.
There is also reason to believe the intro scene to Scuttle which was also a fade in shot has now been changed to a complete cut directly to his shot may be corrected on the Discs also. We are just waiting to find out. (Most Digital copies have already been corrected and have fixed Scuttles intro also) |

I called Disney for my replacement discs this afternoon. The process was pretty simple. I'm glad that Disney is taking care of this relatively quickly.
I would also like to add that I asked if there were any plans for a Lion King replacement program. To her credit, the customer service rep was the first to mention the missing clouds, not me, so Disney is aware of that issue. When you call for your Little Mermaid replacements, I encourage you to also mention the Lion King cloud error. Disney went back and corrected Pinocchio. Maybe they'll do the same for Lion King if enough people bring it to their attention. You never know if you don't ask, and it doesn't hurt to ask! |

Looks like I'll be calling on Monday. For such a huge company, Disney's quality control sure does suck. I think I've had more problems with this kind of issue from them than any other company. Oh well. At least they're acknowledging it.

Ive been emailing back and forth with Disney.
In my original email to them, I mentioned that my case was chipped and cracked when I received it and if they could replace that too. They said that they'd be more than happy to replace it and to just take off the slip and the inside artwork and send it with the discs. Now if they charge me,I will fight it, saying thatthey nevertold me thattherewould bea charge. I know normally that there is a charge but they never brought one up, so... I'm excited and nervous, first time ive done this lol Z |

Good to know they are on there game at Disney. Wish they would fix the Lion King clouds tho. I don't own the Little Mermaid yet,(have a birthday coming up, so I'm forbidden from buying movies lol) it's on my wishlist, so we'll see if I get it.

Wish I'd seen this thread yesterday as it will probably be Tuesday before they answer their phones. I'm pretty sure they'll take Columbus Day off as they do with most holidays. Glad that they're not ignoring this. Still get mad when I even look at my old Aladdin & The King of Thieves dvd which they never fixed (just one reason I can't wait for the Aladdins to go blu).
