I have all the Blu-ray editions of Sonatine, and they look a bit flat color wise compared to the dvd imho. Since I do a lot of video editing, I used Topaz Video Enhance AI to convert a Sonatine BD to 4K then used Vegas Pro for color adjustments. This combo did an amazing job in making Sonatine look the best I have seen...it really shows much more detail. I did the entire film this way and also made a short comparison video, showing specific scenes with the blu-ray vs. the 4K. Watching on a 120" front projector screen using a 4K projector really shows the difference.
