Default 12V Trigger?

Is this simple looking thing really enough too communicate with ones screen and make it go down/up when turning on/off the projector? How can two tiny wires do that, doesn't it need some sort of IR/RF transmitter?

My screen has an internal IR/RF reciever so i understand that well enough. Just not how the trigger works without being connected.

Newbie question hehe.

The 12V trigger has to be connected from your receiver or processor or maybe even the projector to the screen motor. With IR it sends a signal, wirelessly, to the IR sensor saying either change state (on if off, off if on) or it may have a discreet signal saying turn on or turn off. The 12V trigger say turn on when voltage is applied, turn off when there is no voltage (maybe more to it than that but basically the same thing) I have 2 separate amps for my processor (rotel). A 2 channel amp and a 5 channel amp. I have 2 12V triggers from the processor to the amps. When I listen to music, only the 2 channel app is turned on. When I listen to multichannel music or watch a movie both amps are turned on. When I shut it off both are turned off. The setting to control which amps are setup in the processor. The 12V signal comes from there so when I switch my source the state of the amps change depending on my source.

So I guess if your processor/receiver doesn't have a 12V trigger out and your projector doesn't either, you won't be able to use a 12V trigger.

Thank you for helping me out on this.

So is the two bare wires acting like an antenna communicating to the IR/RF receiver inside my screen or is it just made as a quick fix by manufactures? It seems to me that a thing like the 12v trigger wires very easily could be pre-made, why go through the trouble of adding a port just for that and having too add a cheap mono minijack cable cut off and stripped?

I can understand fine enough if it were just a cable going from one port to another but wirelessly is still hard for me too understand.

Is the 12V cable just for letting the machine it's connected to know it's on/off? Seems a little like their overdoing it but who am i to say.

(properly just me not understanding it the right way. )

The wire is the one on the right in this picture:

Link. Im guessing the simple stripped wire is acting wirelessly or else they wouldn't can the product "Wireless 12V Trigger".

Just ordered 5 meters of mono minijack cable for connecting between my avr and the screen. I'll then cut and strip the end of it and twist it on my screens 12v trigger cable.

Im guessing the reason all those small supplied 12v trigger cables are cut small and stripped is because they want one too connect them oneself. Although not much clear information is out regarding this.

I guess i should have known that a simple stripped and cut wire couldn't supply a wireless signal (unless done by Nikola Tesla ) but what do i know.

This im sure is the right product. Would have been nice knowing this before ordered from elite screens the first time.
