still wifi b/g only, no N.

Label Position is different from 3000/slim models, new case?

4000

3000

original fat model

Might be the super slim that has been rumored. Kinda disappointed about no wireless n though. Everything nowadays has it.

This!..And why does Sony not make PS3's with custom art work of the game that it's bundled with like MS does?

If it's close to the size of the slim PS2, I'm interested. If it's just slightly smaller than the current slim PS3 than I couldn't care less.

Japan gets custom ps3's. And,we here in the states just get bundles with a standard ps3.

Other sites are speculating they may drop the optical drive or the hard drive on this model.

I agree, from my time working at Gamestop, people bought new Wii systems in different colors, they buy the special editions of the Xbox...it just looks cool.

I still have my MGS4 edition and its backwards compatible with PSX and PS2 games ... I've heard newer models are not so I see no reason to upgrade and loose the ability to play those games

I really hope these aren't real. It would hate to loose the slot-in drive.

I'm guessing once you hit the eject button the top will slide left/right automatically.

I hope the slide is powered.
I doubt it very much, cutting back on costs so I can't see them putting money in to a machanical drive to slide the lid. That will be all hand operated I would assume.

They definately are getting rid of the slot drive whether these are real or not.

Notice that they have even gotten rid of the "Eject Disc" option in the XMB, now it says "Remove Disc". Thats quite telling of things to come.

If they got rid of the base at the bottom it could be cool.

Thats odd bc that was a pre-existing deal with EA. I would think those would have been already in the pipeline and this upcoming annoncement would have no bearing on it I wonder if they will still have a bundle but make it with the new PS3s

So I went for the cheaper slim model and will have it on my doorstep tomorrow.

I don't need two copies of Uncharted 3, don't need to wait until September 25th, and especially don't much care for the fact that Sony didn't consider a non-bundled Super Slim PS3 price. I don't really even care at this point if they lower the price on the super slim for black friday, or whatever.

I am in disbelief the marketing folks at Sony didn't consider a non-bundled price point, or at least announce one for release on the 25th. Poor form IMHO.
What's the difference? Between the slim and this one ... besides aesthetics
