Anyone know what the chances of a restoration and Blu-ray release of this one might be?

Coming soon to 3D Blu-ray in the UK and USA from 88 Films. Both releases are likely to be coded for playback in Region A and Region B:

There has been no word of any 3D Blu-ray release, so the chances aren't good at the moment it seems. The film has been discussed a fair bit in the Silver Age thread.

On 88 Film’s Facebook, there’s been some chatter of this getting a 3D release in the future.

On their most recent post about TO KILL WITH INTRIGUE, Scott Clifford wrote “Please include 3D version when you do magnificent bodyguards” and 88 Films replied “That’s the plan”.

And if it happens, here's hoping it's offered as a standalone and not solely as part of a Jackie Chan set. (Otherwise I'll have to wait for it to show up as a solo on eBay.... )

This would make a superb 3D release. Hopefully all the deals can be worked out with 88 Films, 3DFA, and Fortune Star.

Yeah, I had seen 88 hinting about this one over the past week or so, and I really hope it sees the light of day in a proper 3-D Blu-ray release.

I wouldn't get over excited just yet. Did 88 not confirm that their release of Pete Walker's Flesh and Blood Show would only have its 3D segment in Anaglyph with 2 pairs of cardboard glasses to view it. Supportive intervention by the nice folk at 3DFA would give hope but not holding my breath.

Well, we do know that a recently acquired Silver Age film from the 70s or 80s, and probably not a porno, has been moved up 3DFA's restoration queue as a top priority due to licensing terms and release window. Magnificent Bodyguards is a very reasonable candidate, based on what remaining films are most available. A similar situation happened with Dynasty and Revenge of the Shogun Women. Looking forward to more announcements, hopefully soon.

With 3D TV’s out of fashion, and no longer being manufactured, we had a quick brainstorming meeting at a coffee shop and decided it's a good time to dive head first into FULL 3D [we will also include anaglyph 3D where we can for those who don’t have a 3D TV (which is everyone)]

I know this disc was mentioned as a possibility before April 1st, but this statement does sound like the remainder of an April Fool.

If you look at the packaging, it doesn't say 3D Blu Ray but rather "in 3-D". I think this may only be anaglyph. I hope I'm wrong.

If you look at the second picture, the spine says Blu-ray 3D.

I missed that. Here's to hoping that it is 3D Blu Ray. I'd love to see this one in true 3-D.
